Big Island Hale
Big Island Hale
This project; located in a gated ranch community on the Big Island of Hawaii responds to the client’s desire to incorporate modern lines while still respecting the local landscape and topography. As such, the existing site pad will remain largely untouched, while the viewing areas and decks will be perched out over the sloping site supported with minimal post and column locations. The open moment frame steel design of the project will be largely pre-fabricated off site to reduce on site labor costs and increase quality control. Coupled with A’a rock masonry walls and warm toned wood siding, the overall composition provides a Hawaiiana twist on a minimalist modern design.
